How keys combine

Rules that change what is already typed. In a rule, [ ] matches any one of the letters inside, ( ) remembers what it matched and $1, $2 put it back. Rules are tried in this order and the first match wins.

1. \\([A-Za-z\>_~\.0-9]) →becomes $1 Only right after typing \\ e.g. \A → A
2. ([କ-ହୟ])୍a →becomes $1 e.g. କ୍ + a → କ
3. ([କ-ହୟ])(a|୍A) →becomes $1ା e.g. କ + a → କା
4. ([କ-ହୟ])୍i →becomes $1ି e.g. କ୍ + i → କି
5. ([କ-ହୟ])୍I →becomes $1ୀ e.g. କ୍ + I → କୀ
6. ([କ-ହୟ])୍u →becomes $1ୁ e.g. କ୍ + u → କୁ
7. ([କ-ହୟ])(୍U|ୁu) →becomes $1ୂ e.g. କ୍ + U → କୂ
8. ([କ-ହୟ])୍R →becomes $1ୃ e.g. କ୍ + R → କୃ
